The end of the war was cause for
celebration. Simple construction,
detailed fabrics & sheers over
slips. Hemlines rose and fell
as the flapper era came and went

Silk velvets, silk satins, rayons
& nylons - designers explored
new cuts & new materials.

Zippers took over from hook & eye
and shoulder pads became
fashionable from mid 30's to 40's

Everyone aspired to the looks of
the sirens of the silver screen as
Hollywood provided an escape
from the effects of the depression
